Each Board of Directors in our condominium complex relies on committees for its efficient operation. In general committees provide expertise, divide the scope of the Board’s workload and offer guidance in determining courses of action and plans for the future.
Some of these are standing committees refreshed with new members from time to time. Others are ad hoc committees that are called into existence to deal with a specific issue or project and disbanded when their task is completed. Each committee needs to be clear about its purpose, objectives, and scope. This is normally expressed as Terms of Reference (TOR).
