Every year at this time there is a holiday food drive at Islington 2000/2010, with boxes filling up repeatedly in the entrances. Also we annually organize voluntary donations to thank our staff with holiday bonuses. Christmas trees and decorations are visible all through the common areas. These are routine at this time of year at Islington 2000/2010.
But this year there have been a few new events solely because of individuals stepping forward to add a little festivity to the season. Below you can see the sweet creations of children and grandchildren, who learned how to make gingerbread houses in our activity room on Sunday. What a sticky good time everyone had! We may want to keep this as a seasonal tradition.
A few days later, the Lunch Bunch, who meet every other Tuesday at noon, were treated to a catered Christmas meal. At least 25 people came to enjoy the hospitality and fellowship. Pictures are below. The spirit of the holiday season is definitely alive in our Vertical Village thanks to some particularly generous individuals. Merry Christmas to us all!
