Annual craft Show & Sale

The Craft Club held their annual Show & Sale on November 12th after a forced absence of two years  due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was a rousing success. There were many jewelry finds, delicious home cooked delicacies, a silent auction and crafts, crafts, crafts. All proceeds will go to Sleeping Children Around the World, a local charity that provides bedkits and mosquito nets to needy children overseas.

After a final tally a grand total of $3500 went to to Sleeping Children Around the World which will allow the charity to provide 100 bedkits overseas. Every part of this charity is operated by volunteers in our community, and the bedkits are produced in the communities where they are distributed. 100% of the proceeds from the Show & Sale will help needy children. Well done, Crafters!

Euchre Club Party

Our Wednesday night Euchre Club got together this week with a fun and festive meal.

They ordered takeout from a local chicken restaurant, and provided liquid refreshment and cake for dessert. Our euchre players have traditionally celebrated annually this way, but missed being able to dine together due to pandemic restrictions.

Heartfelt thanks to the organizers of this event for rising to the special occasion and making it an evening to remember.

Fond Farewell

Isington 2000 Bistro was the setting of a casual reception to say farewell to some dear friends who are moving away to a senior’s residence. A beautiful sweet table made for a festive atmosphere. Thank you to the organizers.

Christmas wreaths

A small group of residents got together to make Christmas wreaths.  Last week they met to gather the required materials and plan. Yesterday they met in the art/activities room to work together. Along with lots of laughs they went home with beautiful wreaths ready for the holiday season. A big thank you to the volunteers who planned and organized this very successful event.
