Please welcome a new addition to the YCC 531 Board of Directors, Lina Romano. She will take on the role of Treasurer, a position that she is well qualified to fill. Lina is a Certified Management Accountant with experience in investment and fund accounting. She has a broad and in-depth understanding of a range of financial processes and systems and will be an asset to our Board.
The investor section of The Globe and Mail had an interesting article by Rob Carrick last week showing the financial considerations involved in downsizing from a house with a paid-off mortgage to a condominium.
While the information in this article is general, it highlights matters that we confront here at Islington 2000 as we jointly budget for the maintenance of our condominium.
Read Downsizing to a condo in retirement won’t always cut your costs.
The weather was perfect yesterday for the annual Directors’ Barbecue for Islington 2000 residents. As you can see everyone had a wonderful time.
Our hobby room was devastated by the flood, and has been out of commission since then. But finally, the new and improved hobby room is ready for use. There will be a meeting for interested residents who want to find out what’s available and how they can register to use the power equipment. Hobby room rules will be available at the meeting. You will need to register for this meeting before July 10th. Date and time for the meeting to be announced.
Meanwhile, here are some photos of the hobby room at present, and a waiver form for using the power equipment. Manuals for the power equipment can be found here. We recommend reading them carefully.
