As you know, renovations are happening all the time in our building. It’s possible that you are beginning to consider making some changes in your suite in the new year. Remember that you are required to make an application to the Board before starting. Watch this video for some advice.
The Board of MTCC 570 has responded to this legislative change with an update to its rules with the addition of Smoking, Cannabis and Drugs Rules.
In short, the rules prohibit these activities within the units or common elements:
any smoking, whether tobacco or cannabis
any illegal drug use
any excessive use of restricted drugs (like alcohol) so as to become a nuisance to residents
the cultivation of cannabis
There will be grandfathering for current residents who are smokers if they register in writing. Read the rules in detail here

The condominium director training is available free
of charge to condo owners, residents and members of the
public. Simply set up an user account with the Condo Authority of Ontario to access the training. Be an informed owner when you attend annual general meetings.
