We are astounded by the organization and efficiency of our small but mighty Social Committee who present us with the gift of a wonderful Canada Day party every single year. This year there was a major challenge since our recreation centre is being restored. Never mind that it was a sizzling hot day. There is some kind of magic in our Social Committee.
Volunteers including our Manager, Antonello cooked the food in our own barbecue area. Serving tables in two places had a choice of mains and salads, along with ice cream and cake. We noted that the music was changed up and some of us even braved the heat to get up and dance. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, from our bar staff to those who stayed to clean up.
Our MP John Zerucellli greeted everyone with Canada lapel pins and little flags. There were prizes for the most patriotic get-ups – it was a sea of red and white. Happy Canada Day!
