Each spring the nine books for the following year are chosen, by vote, from a list of books suggested by club members.
And at the meetings each of us submits one or two questions about the book of the month. The questions go into a bowl, are chosen one at a time at random, and read out aloud to spark conversation. It’s always a wonder how much discussion, both serious and light-hearted, ensues.
During the pandemic our meetings were held on Zoom for a while, but we are back to meeting in the party room again and grateful that our book club continues to flourish and inspire spirited conversation at Islington 2000.
Watch the bulletin board for reminders. All are welcome.
